Swine Flu

Swine Flu has been a hot topic for the past few months. Every day I have someone ask me important questions about how to protect themselves from the virus. I encourage patients to do a little research before they decide whether or not to line up for the vaccination in a month or so. Find out what testing has been done on the vaccine yourself, learn about the ingredients, and so on. My recommendation is to boost your God-given immune system before you put your trust in immunity that has been manufactured in a lab. Man cannot improve on God's design, no matter how hard we try. How do you boost your immune system??? Eat foods that are anti-inflammatory and avoid those that create inflammation (they make your immune system kick into gear to fight the inflammation so if you do come into contact with the flu virus only a percentage of your immune system is able to battle it). Examples of inflammatory foods are: dairy, sugar, processed foods, soft drinks, and refined grains. Good foods are fruits and veggies, organic if you can get them, and water is essential. In addition, chiropractic adjustments boost the immune system by removing subluxation and allowing the brain and body to communicate. I always recommend a high quality whole food multi-vitamin such as Catalyn to support the body along with a cod liver oil supplement. And of course, get some exercise. These simple things will help your body function at its highest potential and will improve its infection fighting ability.
